As one of America’s preeminent comedic voices, George Carlin saw it all throughout his extraordinary fifty-year career and made fun of most of it. Last Words is the story of the man behind some of the most seminal comedy of the last half century, blending his signature acerbic humor with never-before-told stories from his own life. Carlin’s early conflicts, his long struggle with substance abuse, his turbulent relationships with his family, and his triumphs over catastrophic setbacks all fueled the unique comedic worldview he brought to the stage. From the heights of stardom to the low points few knew about, Last Words is told with the same razor-sharp honesty that made Carlin one of the best-loved comedians in American history.
Editorial : From Publishers Weekly For more than a decade before his 2008 death, groundbreaking stand-up comedian Carlin had been working on his autobiography with writer Hendra (Father Joe), who finished it by distilling hours of conversations with the irascible social commentator. Conveniently, Jase, Morgan's new boyfriend is having an affair so Shae and Morgan can quickly and with very little drama fall into bed again. You can quickly draw comparisons between other industries that deal with customers (which is EVERYONE).
I really liked the cases that the book discusses in-depth, along with the lessons learned. After seeing a video, "A Sense of Wonder", which portrays Rachel Carson giving her account of her life and the writing of "Silent Spring" I went looking for a biography that would fill in the pieces. The title story of this collection is the story from which Alfred Hitchcock based his famous movie "The Birds". I had developed a muffin-top around my middle. Excellent find!. I was asked to review this book in PDF format at no charge to me and provide an honest review.. I love the new direction Constance O'day-Flanner's writing has taken I thoroughly enjoyed taking tha
