I am delighted to be one of the women profiled in this exciting new book. I recommend this book to anybody interested in black-footed ferrets or any endangered species recovery. Phil Frank has been drawing a daily cartoon for the San Francisco Chronicle for about 10 years or so. We purchased other books in this series based upon reading this one!
It would also be a great addition to a PK-2 classroom library.. However, the poor have a lot fewer resources than the well-off, they lack information and skills provided to the well-off, and lack access to such public goods as clean water and consumables subject to food and drug regulations.
