I was glad to see some really unique activities in here (even though it first came out twenty years ago!). The maps, crucial to following his writing, are muddy and indistinct, photocopied into oblivion at 600 dpi. The book does a great job of visually portraying facts and statistics.. And all the book's adventures, the whimsical and the weighty, are perfectly related by the narrator, a masterfully digressive and captivating storyteller (although I did not get the "feminine yet authoritative," whatever that means, mentioned in a review above). My preschooler loves this book. Their own position is that there are virtually always ways to productively intervene to pull a significant fraction of people out of poverty. They get a lead on someone who knows about a lab. And I am disappointed.. I couldn't figure out how they could ever be tired or sleepy as jacked as they were on caffeine.
