Terms such as "barmkin" (an outer wall for a small castle such as Castle Moy) and "crannog" (a small artificial island in a loch such as Ewan "The Headless" had lived on) and "berlinn" (a small galley type of ship used by the folk of the Western Isles of Scotland) and many others are terms which are specific to the life and times the author is describing.
All in all this reader found The Wise Ones of Mull a terrific read and an excellent way to learn more of the life of the clans on Mull in the 16th century. Why does he love a job to which he has absolutely nothing nice to say? He sounds like a middle-aged mid-level manager. This book is a good long reflection on how God has uniquely acted and spoken through the life of one man.
"An Arrow Pointing To Heaven" is divided up into ten chapters (plus a wonderful introduction by Brennan Manning and an afterword by Rich's brother David). You need to do some planning before you jump it. I don't normally leave feedback for text
